Pointe-à-la-Renommée invites you to explore its interactive exhibitions and discover the exciting history of lighthouse keepers, local families and marine telegraph operators.

You’ll learn more about the history of Pointe-à-la-Renommée and its brave occupants over the years. You’ll also learn more about the different means of communication used in the 20^th century.

Visit the historic lighthouse and step back in time to experience the different eras of this iconic Gaspésie monument. Animations help to explain the technical aspects of the lighthouse. Climb to the top of the lighthouse and take in the breathtaking ocean panorama at the Gulf of St. Lawrence—a popular highlight for visitors! This majestic site is one of the most beautiful maritime landscapes in Quebec.

Did you know that Guglielmo Marconi, one of the inventors of radio and wireless telegraphy, established the first North American marine radio station at Pointe-à-la-Renommée in 1904?

During the two world wars, the Marconi station became a strategic communications centre. Suitable for all ages, this fascinating exhibition immerses you in the history of this radio telegraphy station that was built to protect lives at sea. Older visitors will enjoy learning about the history of the station, and younger ones will be thrilled to meet Marcomini, a virtual character who narrates historical events from a child’s perspective during the children’s tour.

By the majestic sea and beneath the stars, take in the dazzling lights and sounds of the show, which brings a fresh perspective to the historic site. This unique 20-minute digital experience will be launched in July 2022.
